Context

KIC had no web presence. The brief was to build something that could serve the community immediately and scale with the organisation as it grows. Rahell Ahmed led the visual and brand direction. My role was to implement that design system into a production codebase and build the data-driven features on top of it.

What Was Built

  • A full design system implemented in code: typography scale, spacing system, component library.
  • Prayer times page — live data from a Google Sheets database, with automatic Jumu'ah Friday handling.
  • Donation functionality — integrated giving flow.
  • Admin panel — content management for the KIC team without requiring developer access.
  • Full site pages: home, prayer times, contact, FAQ, donate.

Decisions

[Placeholder — Aymaan to fill in actual decision content here. Two to three short paragraphs on specific decisions made during build: how the prayer times data layer works, how the design system was structured in code, and any constraints navigated.]

Result

thekic.org is live. It serves the Kilburn community with real-time prayer information, a functioning donation system, and a maintainable admin layer the team can operate independently.
